Campus Activities

February 11, 2011 - The Lincoln Memorial University (LMU) John J. Duncan, Jr. School of Law (LMU-DSOL) will welcome prospective students and the general public to an Open House on Saturday, March 5, from 2-4 p.m. The program will include a presentation on the application process, as well as financial aid information and an opportunity to meet faculty and staff.

LMU-DSOL will waive the application fee for prospective students who apply before January 31. Tennessee’s newest law school is recruiting for both full- and part-time students to begin next fall. The full-time classes will take place during the day. The part-time curriculum was designed for working professionals with all of the classes taking place on weekday evenings.

Open House participants will also get an introduction to the state-of-the-art technology that LMU-DSOL utilizes in the newly renovated Old City Hall building. The largely paperless curriculum employs cutting-edge teaching techniques to ensure LMU-DSOL graduates are equipped to thrive in the changing professional world.

LMU-DSOL welcomed its inaugural class in August 2009 following the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACS-COC) granted approval for LMU to offer the Juris Doctor (JD) degree program. LMU-DSOL received Tennessee Board of Law Examiner (TBLE) approval in February 2009. The TBLE approval allows all the School’s graduates to be eligible to sit for the Bar Exam in Tennessee. LMU has initiated the American Bar Association (ABA) process and will welcome a site visit in March. ABA approval allows a school of law’s graduates to sit for the Bar Exam in most jurisdictions across the country.

Lincoln Memorial University is a values-based learning community dedicated to providing educational experiences in the liberal arts and professional studies.
