LMU TO HOST 20TH ANNUAL BLUE RIDGE UNDERGRADUATE RESEARCH CONFERENCE



January 11, 2013 - Harrogate, Tennessee, January 11, 2013 - Lincoln Memorial University (LMU) will host the 20th Annual Blue Ridge Undergraduate Research Conference (BRURC) March 8-9, 2013.

The conference invites undergraduate students from institutions throughout the Southern Appalachian region to present their research projects in a high-quality, low-pressure forum at minimal cost. Faculty members and undergraduate students are encouraged to attend. Students may present their projects in either a paper presentation or a poster presentation format.

The conference keynote speaker will be Dr. Doran Christensen, associate director and staff physician for the Radiation Emergency Assistance Center & Training Site (REAC/TS), Oak Ridge Institute for Science and Education (ORISE) operated by Oak Ridge Associated Universities (ORAU) for the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), Oak Ridge, Tenn.

If you are student wishing to present your research at the conference, you will need to submit the presentation abstract (available online at http://www.lmunet.edu/blueridge/BRURC-Proposal-Form-fillable.pdf) for consideration.

Deadline for submitting abstracts for presentations is February 1, 2013. General conference registrations will be accepted up to and on the day of the conference.

Paper presentations will be grouped by discipline. Students should be prepared to present for 15 minutes with a 5 minute question period. Presentations should be made orally with PowerPoint or other visual aids used. Students should come prepared for a professional meeting and be in business attire. A designated area will be available at the conference site for poster presentations.
