February 25, 2013 - Harrogate, Tennessee β€” The Lincoln Memorial University (LMU) Board of Trustees convened for its fall board meeting in November 2012 and voted Donald D. Patton, CPL, as its newest member.

β€œThe LMU community is proud of the accomplishments of Don Patton and we look forward to his leadership on our Board of Trustees,” LMU President B. James Dawson said.

A LMU alumnus, Patton earned his undergraduate degree at LMU prior to embarking on a 35-year career in the oil and gas industry. Patton has a diverse background in energy land management and business development. He founded NDP Resources, LLC, and co-founded Harrogate Energy, LLC. He was also an officer and active participant in the company that brought natural gas service to Claiborne County, Tenn.

Throughout his career, Patton has been dedicated to building an energy independent America. He is a member of the American Association of Professional Landmen and has served the organization on various committees. He is also a member of the Michael Late Benedum Chapter of Professional Landmen.

In addition to his degree from LMU, Patton earned a Master of Business Administration from the University of St. Thomas in Houston, Texas, and has been a Certified Professional Landman since 1988. He was the recipient of the Algernon Sydney Sullivan Award at LMU and continues to serve his alma mater as a member of the advisory council for the LMU School of Business.

"I have known Don for most of his life and have watched his successful corporate endeavors carefully. He is a great young man with uncanny business acumen. He is always on the go and exhibits great judgment about all things business related. Don is extremely bright and totally dedicated to his alma mater. I am excited about serving with him on our Board of Trustees,” stated LMU President Emeritus Gary J. Burchett.
Don and his wife, Janice, have two children, Noah (LMU Class of 2010) and Allison Patton Bowman.
