November 25, 2013 - Harrogate, Tennessee — The Lincoln Memorial University (LMU) Music Department will present a pair of concerts highlighting its performing ensembles next week. The Concert Band and Community Jazz Band will perform on Tuesday, December 3, in the Sam and Sue Mars Performing Arts Center in the Duke Hall of Citizenship on the LMU main campus in Harrogate, Tenn. The Concert Choir and Tri-State Community Chorus will perform on Wednesday, December 4, in the Middlesboro Central Arts Auditorium.

Directed by Dr. Joe Carucci, assistant professor of music and program director, the LMU Concert Band will perform the music of David Maslanka, Duke Ellington, Nicolai Rimsky-Korsakov and Ryan Nowlan. The concert will also feature the debut performance of the LMU Community Jazz Band. The program will begin at 7:30 p.m. and is free and open to the public.

Directed by Dr. Young Kim, instructor of music, the Concert Choir and Tri-State Community Chorus will join forces to perform a wide variety of music from Caccini’s setting of “Dona Nobis Pacem” to the Beatles’ “Can’t Buy Me Love.” The Gospel Ensemble and Chamber Singers will also be featured and the performance will begin at 7:30 p.m.
