LMU’S CAYLOR SCHOOL OF NURSING RECEIVES TWO HRSA GRANTS
July 31, 2014 - Lincoln Memorial University (LMU)’s Caylor School of Nursing (CSON) was recently awarded two grants by the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA). To date the CSON has received 19 total project year grant awards from HRSA.
The first grant, totaling approximately $648,000 over two years, is an Advanced Education Nursing Traineeship Grant Award to provide tuition support for eligible master of science in nursing degree students. Since 2007 the CSON has been awarded approximately $4.5 million in HRSA grant awards. The second grant, totaling approximately $25,830, is a Nurse Anesthesia Traineeship Grant Award to benefit students in the CSON’s Master of Science in Nursing (M.S.N.) program in the Nurse Anesthesia Concentration. Dr. Mary Anne Modrcin, dean of the Caylor School of Nursing and the grant program director/principal investigator (PI), authored the grant.
“One of the primary goals of the Caylor School of Nursing is to provide the highest quality advanced practice nurses for the underserved areas of our region,” Modrcin said. “These HRSA grants will help us to continue to provide the highest possible M.S.N. education to our students and enable them to train in facilities within our service area. I appreciate the hard work of the entire Caylor School of Nursing team in these efforts.”
