LMU TO STAGE APPALACHIAN YOUTH PERFORMING ARTS CAMP
June 23, 2009 - Harrogate, Tennessee — Lincoln Memorial University (LMU) is now accepting reservations for the LMU Appalachian Youth Performing Arts Camp. The two-week day camp is set to run from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. July 20-24 and 27-31. LMU Director of Music Education and Performance Candace Armstrong will direct the camp.
The camp is designed for kids ages eight to 15. The cost of the camp is $50 per camper. Lunch is included. It is being offered through the support of a grant from the Steele Reese Foundation. Full scholarships are available to the first 20 campers to sign up.
Students will learn the basics of vocal techniques, song preparation, acting, stage presence and how to work through stage fright. The camp will take place in the Johnson Room (127) in Avery Hall on the LMU campus.
