GEORGE'S "LAW FOR ALL" WRAPS UP YEAR WITH CLASSROOM VISITS
May 3, 2011 - Lincoln Memorial University-Duncan School of Law (LMU-DSOL) Professor of Law Shelly George has been on a mission since arriving in Knoxville, Tenn., in July 2010 to join the faculty of LMU-DSOL. In eight months, George has spoken to over 2,000 students of various age ranges in Knox County Schools with her “Law for All” presentations.
George developed the program with the goal to introduce the concepts of the legal profession to middle and high school students. The program has a specific aim to teach at risk and minority youth that they can go to college, law school and beyond. George’s mission is to inspire youth to keep an open mind about their futures.
George has spoken to four groups of high school students this month as part of her Law for All program. She spoke three times at Austin East High School and once at Cedar Bluff Middle School, reaching over 200 students during her visits. The Law for All Program will continue in the fall.
