5TH ANNUAL GOLDEN SCALPEL GOLF TOURNAMENT TO BENEFIT LMU’S RAM CLINIC



February 13, 2012 - Registration now open for tournament on April 14

The Fifth Annual Golden Scalpel Golf Tournament will be held Saturday, April 14, 2012, at Woodlake Golf Club in Tazewell, Tenn. The Tournament is presented by the Student Osteopathic Surgical Association at Lincoln Memorial University-DeBusk College of Osteopathic Medicine (LMU-DCOM). The tournament begins with a shotgun start at 9:00 a.m.

This tournament’s title sponsor is DeRoyal Industries. A portion of the proceeds from the tournament will go to benefit the Remote Area Medical (RAM) clinic at LMU, scheduled for June 2-3, 2012. RAM provides a wide range of free basic health, dental and optical services to people across the country. The Knoxville-based organization also provides services outside the United States. Since its founding in 1985, RAM has provided services at over 600 health expeditions both in this country and overseas. On average, the group conducts one expedition per month in various communities throughout the Southeast.

Tournament registration is $500 for a team of four and $400 for a team of four LMU students with ID. Individual registration is $125 per person or $100 per LMU student with ID. Registration includes green fees, cart rental, range balls and food and drink.

Prizes will be awarded to the first, second, third and last place teams as well as to a randomly selected team. Prizes will also be awarded to individuals for the longest straight drive, closest-to-the-pin and hole-in-one.
