Morgan, the artist behind such hits as “I Got You,” “Redneck Yacht Club,” “Almost Home,” and “That is What I Love About Sundays,” is touring in support of his fourth studio album entitled Little Bit of Life. Known for his high-energy and entertaining live shows, Morgan’s latest offering from Broken Bow Records is an attempt to capture the sound and energy of his live shows.
Morgan was born in Kingston Springs, Tenn., near Nashville. He became an emergency medical technician at 18, then joined the Army a few years later. At the end of his enlistment, he returned to Nashville where he was hired to sing demos for other writers and publishing companies. Following the usual struggling artist road to fame he held many jobs, including a sheriff's deputy, a plainclothes department store security officer, a construction worker and a Wal-Mart employee. He also spent eight months on stage at the Country Tonight Theater in Pigeon Forge, Tenn.
He first signed with Atlantic, which released his first album in 2000. After the label closed, Morgan soon signed to Broken Bow Records and climbed into the Top 10 with the single "Almost Home" in 2003. The album My Kind of Livin' followed in 2005, which included his first No. 1 hit, "That's What I Love About Sunday." “Redneck Yacht Club” also climbed to No. 1 to give him back-to-back No. 1 hits.
