LMU, MUSEUM TO COMMEMORATE LINCOLN'S ASSASSINATION



April 11, 2007 - Harrogate, Tennessee — The Abraham Lincoln Library and Museum and Lincoln Memorial University will commemorate the assassination of Abraham Lincoln at 10 a.m. on Friday, April 13. The fifth annual program entitled, “Now He Belongs to the Ages: The Long Journey Home,” will take place on the University Quadrangle.

Former congressman Bill Jenkins will be the featured speaker. The program will also include a 21-gun salute and a Civil War drum corp. A wreath will also be laid in honor of the fallen president for which LMU is named. Following the ceremony, Claiborne County Mayor Joe Tyler Duncan will sign a proclamation in the Abraham Lincoln Library and Museum.

Lincoln Memorial University is a values-based learning community dedicated to providing educational experiences in the liberal arts and professional studies.
