LMU-DCOM SEEKS STANDARDIZED PATIENTS AND PATIENT MODELS
June 17, 2008 - Harrogate, Tennessee, June 17, 2008 – Lincoln Memorial University-DeBusk College of Osteopathic Medicine (LMU-DCOM) will hold an information session for anyone interested in applying for LMU-DCOM’s Standardized Patient and Patient Model Program on Thursday, June 26, from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. in Room 105 of the LMU-DCOM building on the LMU campus in Harrogate.
A Standardized Patient is a person trained to portray an actual patient with a specific medical history and physical exam findings for the purpose of instructing health professional students. A Patient Model is a person willing to serve as an actual patient for physical examination training by health professional students.
Candidates for the Standardized Patient and Patient Model Programs should have flexible schedules, an ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism, a desire to work in a state-of-the-art medical school facility and an interest in medicine and medical education. Standardized Patients and Patient Models are employed by the University and will be paid an hourly wage. Interested individuals must be age 18 or older to apply.
The information session will include an overview of the LMU-DCOM Standardized Patient and Patient Model Programs by school officials. Applications will be taken following the session.
