LMU-DCOM STUDENT AWARDED SCHOLARSHIP FOR POLITICAL INVOLVEMENT
July 29, 2009 - Harrogate, Tennessee, July 29, 2009 – Owen Vincent, a third-year osteopathic medical student at Lincoln Memorial University-DeBusk College of Osteopathic Medicine (LMU-DCOM), was recently awarded the 2009 Most Politically Active Student Scholarship from the American Osteopathic Information Association–Osteopathic Political Action Committee (AOIA-OPAC).
Vincent is a member of the AOIA as well as OPAC’s Student Chairman’s Club. In the spring he was inducted into Omega Beta Iota, the national osteopathic political action honor society, and attended the annual D.O. Day on the Hill event in Washington, D.C., in 2008 and 2009. Vincent is the past treasurer of the LMU-DCOM Student Government Association. He is originally from Minneapolis, Minn., and received his undergraduate degree at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Vincent is currently doing clinical rotations at Sweetwater Hospital Association in Sweetwater, Tenn.
