May 10, 2010 - Harrogate, Tennessee, May 10, 2009 – A delegation from Lincoln Memorial University-DeBusk College of Osteopathic Medicine (LMU-DCOM) traveled to the nation's capital in late April to attend DO Day on the Hill.

The annual event, organized by the American Osteopathic Association (AOA), is the preeminent opportunity for osteopathic physicians and osteopathic medical students to come to the nation’s capitol and lobby Members of Congress and their staff members face-to-face. Over the years the event has grown from a small gathering of 20-30 practicing physicians to the single largest physician advocacy event in Washington, DC. This year more than 600 DOs, osteopathic medical students and representatives of the AOA participated. The attendees met with approximately 329 members from 44 states. Students represented the largest segment of participants, with 510 students from osteopathic colleges across the nation participating. The 24 LMU-DCOM students in attendance were accompanied by LMU-DCOM Vice President and Dean Ray Stowers and Assistant Professor of Family Medicine Gina DeFranco.

The DeBusk College of Osteopathic Medicine is located on the campus of Lincoln Memorial University in Harrogate, Tennessee.
