LMU MOURNS THE LOSS OF ASSISTANT PROFESSOR WAYNE WELLS
January 19, 2011 - Harrogate, Tennessee — Lincoln Memorial University (LMU) is morning the loss of Assistant Professor and Program Director of the Broadcast Communications program Wayne Wells, who passed away Saturday, January 15. The University will hold a memorial service in his honor on Friday, January 21, at 12:15 p.m. in the Duke Hall of Citizenship. University Chaplin Rev. Ray Penn will lead the service.
Wells was retired from the Air Force and was a member of the Veterans Upward Bound at East Tennessee State University. He was also a member of Shawanee Masonic Lodge. He started his work for LMU in the Sigmon Communications center before joining the faculty. He earned undergraduate and master’s degrees from LMU.
Wells is survived by his wife, Norma; step daughter and son-in-law Liana and Mark Miracle; mother-in-law Ethel Sturgill; father James Wells; siblings Debra Munday, Charles Wells, Michael Wells and Andy Wells; and a number of nieces and nephews.
