LMU PRESENTS FOUR LEAF PEAT IN CONCERT
March 9, 2011 - Lincoln Memorial University (LMU) will host Irish folk music group Four Leaf Peat in concert on Friday, March 11, at 7:30 p.m. in the Arnold Auditorium of the Abraham Lincoln Library and Museum. Admission is free and open to the public.
The Knoxville-based ensemble was born out of the city’s Irish traditional music scene and is dedicated to honoring and preserving the spirit of Irish music. Influenced by Ireland's traditional pipers, fiddlers and singers, Four Leaf Peat also bows a hat to the more recent innovators of Irish music such as The Bothy Band, Planxty, Dervish and Lunasa.
The group has released two CDs and is currently working on a third. Members of the group include Chad Beauchaine (fiddle), Gil Draper (guitar, vocals, mandolin and bouzouki), Jason Herrera (bodhran, vocals, flute and whistle) and Rick Hall (hammer dulcimer, bodhran, vocals, whistle and bones).
